About Serra

A former documentary family photographer, Serra watched for decades as joyful moments went unnoticed by their main characters.

As she talked with parents, who universally expressed overwhelm and isolation, her mission shifted from making pretty pictures to capturing those moments of joy in order to remind families of the love that is present in every interaction.

She believes without a doubt that communication is key to connection, and connection is key to joy.

About The Brand

Whether it’s a new friendship or a long-time partnership, people thrive when they know they are valued. And what better way to make sure they know than telling them outright? But sometimes it’s hard to find the words…especially for those of us who are neurodivergent, shy, introverted, or otherwise struggle with social cues and fear saying the wrong thing.

This is why Monster Buddies evolved! To help us express those everyday feelings in an impactful and heartfelt way.

Whimsical hand-painted monster buddies pair with sincere hand-drawn messages for a uniquely cute and earnest vibe. Monster Buddy Cards are then individually printed, cut, and packaged by hand.
